Bollin sponsoring summer reading contest

State Rep. Ann Bollin of Brighton is sponsoring a summer reading contest for elementary students in grades 1-5.

The contest kicks off on June 21, 2019, and runs through the summer, ending on Aug. 31. Area students are encouraged to read as many books as they can during summer break to be entered for a chance to be selected as “Rep for a Day” in Lansing.

Rep. Bollin is partnering with several libraries for the contest, including:

  • Brighton District Library, 100 Library Drive, Brighton;
  • Hamburg Township Library, 10411 Merrill Road, Whitmore Lake; and
  • Pickney Community Public Library, 125 Putman St., Pinckney.

Children or their parents can record the titles of completed books and the number of pages read using the online form found at www.RepBollin.com. Readers must submit their information by Aug. 31 to be eligible to win. One winner will be selected and invited to join Rep. Bollin at the state Capitol with their family.

“Developing a love of reading will provide a lifetime of adventures and wonder and reading throughout the summer will help students continue to improve their reading skills,” Rep. Bollin said.

Any students or parents with questions about the summer reading contest should contact Rep. Bollin’s office at (517) 373-1784 or via email at AnnBollin@house.mi.gov.
