The sale opens to the public Oct. 17 and 18 from 10am-9pm; Oct. 19 from 10am–5pm; Oct. 20 from 10am-5pm (BAG DAY-$5/bag); Oct. 21 from 1-3pm (FREE DAY). Scanners will be allowed every day except Members Night, Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Book lovers are invited to stock up for winter with their favorites – thrillers, mysteries, health, cooking, travel, gardening, music, history, and new surprises! What’s more, when you support the Friends of the Brighton District Library book and media sale, you support the library.

The Friends of the Brighton District library is a nonprofit organization that works to strengthen and support the Brighton District Library.

Funds from memberships, book sales, special events, and donations go toward much needed programming, equipment, and services at the Library.  Some of their past and current achievements include:
• Summer Reading Programs
• Laptops
• Livingston Reads
• Writer’s Workshops for Teens and Adults
• Books for Babies Kits
• Books and Materials for the Special Needs Collection
• Mango Languages (online language & culture learning)
• Springfest
• Holiday Open House
• Movie Licenses (allows the library to show films to the public)

“The numerous and diverse programs sponsored by the Friends enrich the Brighton community,” said Marsha Luetjen, president of the Friends of the Brighton District Library. “Not only are the sponsored programs fun and educational, they bring people to the library. Once there, they have access to knowledge. Knowledge is power. Every 50 cents and every dollar buys that knowledge. Plus the sale merchandise provides hours of entertainment. Come to the book sale and have fun. I hope to see you there.”

The Friends of the Brighton District Library Fall Book Sale is located at 100 Library Drive. For information about the book sale or becoming a member of the Friends call (810) 229-6571 or visit brightonlibrary.info/FOL.
