Answer the phone! If you’re a senior citizen, the Area Agency on Aging 1-B wants to talk to you

Don’t hang up if you are over 60 and Mitchell Research calls you to ask if you’ll participate in a survey.

The Area Agency on Aging 1-B is conducting an assessment of senior needs in Livingston County. Callers will say: “Hi, I’m calling from Mitchell Research, a national polling company. We’re talking to people over the age of 60 about issues facing them and your answers will remain strictly confidential. We are not selling anything.”

The survey call will appear on caller IDs with a Livingston County area code. The caller will not ask for any identifying information, and individual responses are completely confidential.

Calls will begin Aug. 19 and continue through Aug. 24.

The survey includes questions about seniors’ needs and preferences regarding housing, transportation, health, social support and service needs. The information will be used by service providers in the county to help plan senior programs and services.

For further information, contact Jim McGuire, director of Research, Policy Development and Advocacy, at the Area Agency on Aging 1-B at (248) 761-6480.
