Golf for good and support children at LACASA Center by registering for the organization’s annual “Drive Out Child Abuse” Celebrity Golf Scramble, set for June 17, 2019, at Lakelands Golf & Country Club. All proceeds from this fundraiser help vulnerable victims of child abuse from our community.
Attendees will mix and mingle with professional sports celebrities while golfing for charity and enjoying the start of Michigan’s summer. Attendees are encouraged to bring a piece of sports memorabilia for celebrities to sign.
This year’s featured athletes are Dave Bing, Detroit Basketball Hall of Famer, and former mayor of Detroit; Jason Hanson, former Detroit professional football player; Tony Scheffler, former Denver & Detroit professional football player; and Dave Rayner, former Detroit professional football player.
Each team that registers will be named for a child who receives services at LACASA Center and will play for that child at the outing. Proceeds from the day’s events stay local and benefit LACASA’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council and LACASA’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program.
Attendees can expect plenty of food and fun the entire day. Event tickets guarantee the attendee 18 holes of golf with a cart, continental breakfast, a goody bag, two drink tickets, lunch at the turn; a variety of games and competitions; day-long silent auction; and mid-afternoon awards dinner.
Registration is $125 per player, $250 per twosome, and $500 per foursome. Dinner-only guests are welcome to attend at $40 per person.
Early registration is encouraged as this event sells out every year. Golfers who register by Friday, May 17, 2019, are entered to win tickets to a Detroit Tigers baseball game. The final deadline to register is Monday, June 10. Individual golfers will be paired with others to complete teams.
