American Legion honors Bob Beck as Michigan State Son of the Year

Bob Beck was surprised on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, when he was named the American Legion’s state Son of the Year. State Sen. Joe Hune was on hand to read the nomination letter at the beginning of the presentation, which was attended by 118 people. Beck was presented with the American Legion Son of the Year for the State of Michigan by Mike Holley, State Sons of the Legion representative.

Ellen Babas from the Howell Melon Patchers Quilting club presented Beck with a patriotic quilt. The American Legion Auxiliary, represented by  June Holley, Post 141 Auxiliary president, presented Beck with a gift card to Cabela’s sporting goods store.vA proclamation from Gov. Rick Snyder, and signed by state representatives Hank Vaupel and Lana Theis, as well as state Sen. Joe Hune, was also presented to Beck for his dedication to veterans and the community.
