50,000 Diapers

Last year in Livingston County, families in need received 50,000 diapers from local organizations, because people in this county are generous and share with each other.  The Great Start Livingston Parent Coalition, a group of volunteer parents, will be hosting a county wide diaper drive in April again this year.

As economic struggles continue locally there has been an increase in the number of families lacking basic needs and relying on state assistance to provide for their families. Many agencies like the Pregnancy Help Clinic, Love Inc. and the Family Resource Center are also struggling in the economic downturn. In response, Great Start Livingston has partnered with Gleaners and Love, Inc. to hold a community wide diaper drive throughout the month.

They believe they can collect twice as many diapers this year as they did last year. Here are a list of businesses and other organizations that are serving as collection points. A few businesses are also sponsoring special events, like free admission to preschool skate at Rollerama when you donate diapers on April 25. If you are in need of diapers, contact Love INC (517)552-3620.
