LACASA Center’s annual Garden Tour Weekend celebrates its 20th anniversary July 14-15, 2018. Community members are invited to stroll beautiful properties, find inspiration for their own gardens, and enjoy a weekend of fun for all ages.
Ten stops are featured on this year’s tour, including roving landscapes cultivated by master gardeners, city-lot masterpieces, and a “Children’s Garden of Art” at LACASA Collection, which features artwork from LACASA’s youngest clients. LACASA Collection is LACASA Center’s unique charity boutique located at 120 W. Highland Rd., Kroger/Crossroads Town Center, Howell.
Garden Tour guests will have the chance to win a variety of prizes in the Blooming Raffle in addition to a beautiful handmade quilt created by the Casual Quilters Guild of Brighton. Raffle items will be located at designated gardens during the tour. They also will be on display in advance at the LACASA Collection, with raffle tickets available for purchase at the store prior to the tour.
During Garden Tour weekend, guests can participate in the Stargazer Scavenger Hunt. Adults and children are welcome to locate the clue provided at each garden for the chance to win great prizes.
As part of the anniversary celebration, a luxury guided bus tour hosted by LACASA’s President and CEO Bobette Schrandt is being offered for an additional charge. The bus tour includes a garden tour ticket, a full day of touring, and a boxed lunch from Grand Traverse Pie Company. Bus seating is limited and bus tour tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at garden entrances on tour days. Garden Tour tickets are available online, at LACASA Center and LACASA Collection, and at retail outlets across Livingston County. Bus tour tickets can be purchased online at lacasacenter.org or by calling LACASA Center.
All proceeds from Garden Tour and the Blooming Raffle stay local and benefit victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence. To learn more, visit lacasacenter.org or contact Beth Marshall, LACASA development coordinator, at (517) 548-1350 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
