Edgerly leaving Howell’s downtown for Lansing post

Cathleen Edgerly

Cathleen Edgerly, who has led Howell’s downtown efforts for the past five years as director of the Howell Downtown Development Authority and Howell Main Street Inc., resigned on Monday, July 22, 2019. Her last day in Howell will be Aug. 20. A Lansing resident, Edgerly will begin her new position as executive director of Downtown Lansing.

It was during Edgerly’s tenure in Howell that the city won the prestigious Great American Main Street Award, and she shepherded through a lot of popular projects, including the recent Howell Art Project, which brought murals to the downtown, and the Rock the Block summertime music-and-food series.

“Thank you for all of your support, camaraderie, honesty and memories,” Edgerly wrote in a letter to community members. “I will continue to cheer you and the entire Howell community on as one of the top downtowns in the U.S.”
