Bollin hosting town hall on Michigan’s roads

State Rep. Ann Bollin

State Rep. Ann Bollin of Brighton Township is hosting a road-funding town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, at the Genoa Township Hall, 2911 Dorr Road.

Doors open at 6 p.m.for the meeting, which will feature House Transportation Committee chairperson Jack O’Malley of Lake Ann.

“The people of Livingston County expect results on roads,” Bollin said. “My colleagues and I have a proposal that invests record funding toward roads, without asking drivers to pay more at the pump. I look forward to sharing our ideas with you, and welcome your input and questions.”

In June, Bollin proposed an amendment to the House’s transportation budget plan that would require the Michigan Department of Transportation to explore the feasibility of implementing tolls on Michigan roads.

At the time, she noted that the amendment does not commit Michigan to using toll roads, but directs the MDOT to investigate them as a potential source of funding that she said was suggest frequently by the public.
