You can win a pair of tickets to Letters from Livingston — the event formerly known as Mommologues — which is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Howell Opera House at 123 E. Grand River Ave. in downtown Howell.

While the event’s new name represents a broadening of cast members and subject matter, it remains true to its core to entertain and raise money for LACASA’s programs for victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

This year marks the fifth performance of the show produced by writers Mona Shand and Maria Stuart, both of whom will read pieces. It also features some of Livingston County’s beloved writers and storytellers, including Amir Baghdadchi, host of Michigan Radio’s Moth StorySlam; Daryl Bean, creative entrepreneur and comedian; Renee Chodkowski, aka, The Great Foodini, Livingston County’s Patron Saint of Foodies; Rebecca Foster, former Pinckney Village president and current trustee; and Jon King of WHMI and author of “Ishkadoodle: A Boy, His Vacuum & Their Outerspace Adventure.”

The pieces for the evening run the gamut, from serious and touching to sidesplittingly funny, so come prepared. There will also be a cash bar available.

Tickets for “Letters from Livingston” are $22 in advance and can be purchased at www.lacasacenter.org. If available, tickets will be $25 at the door.
