State Rep. Jason Woolford

State Rep. Jason Woolford, R-Howell, is hosting an event at noon Monday on the lawn of the historic Livingston County Courthouse in downtown Howell to show his appreciation for the city’s leaders who have “championed their community, fostered peace, and worked to challenge negative stereotypes about Howell.”

Woolford said in a release that he will highlight the work of Howell’s local leaders to build on the city’s welcoming environment, “making it the exact opposite of the prejudiced community many critics have falsely portrayed it as.”

“Despite their exemplary leadership, false narratives about discrimination in Howell continue to pervade the media due to one ill-intentioned actor from outside of Howell hosting rallies there in the ‘70s and 80s,” Woolford said.
