Why would Bezotte and Bollin vote against Michigan Librarian Day?

Hard as it might be to believe, Republican state Reps. Bob Bezotte and Ann Bollin on Tuesday voted against making April 25 Michigan Librarian Day each year. I am serious. Bezotte and Bollin voted against acknowledging Michigan's librarians. As a member of the Howell Carnegie District Library Board, I was pleased to learn that the Michigan House voted to establish the date of April 25 as annual Michigan Librarian Day. It’s a well-deserved recognition of those who work at these venerable public institutions that function as the hubs (though I prefer referring to them as "hearts and souls") of communities
