Walk for Warmth set for Feb. 11 to raise $$ for utility assistance

Every year, there are residents in our community who struggle to pay their utility bills, and the 33rd Annual Walk for Warmth will raise much-needed funds for emergency utility assistance.

Set for Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Hartland Educational Support Service Center at 9525 E. Highland Road (M-59) in Howell, registration for the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.; the walk begins with a kick-off show and announcements at 9 a.m.

Last year, the event raised nearly $65,000. All funds raised stay in the community to help with utility bills.

Entertainment at this year’s walk includes the National Anthem by members of the Hartland High School Choir; DJ Aaron Aeschliman; costumed characters, courtesy of the Hartland Junior Optimists; dance party with the Howell Carnegie District Library; a kids’ craft area with Oakland University; fun giveaways from various vendors; and more.
