The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau continues to investigate a multiple-vehicle crash at the intersection of Runyon Lake and White Lake roads, just east of the U.S. 23 interchange in Tyrone Township at approximately 1 p.m. Thursday.
According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a 32-year-old Flint man driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling north on Runyan Lake Road when he failed to stop at the intersection of White Lake Road and was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer being driven by a 66-year-old Fenton woman, which caused it to cross into the other lane of travel where it was struck by a 2015 GMC Yukon being driven by a 57-year-old Fenton woman.
Fire personnel extricated the Flint man from the Chevrolet Cruze, and he was transported in serious condition to Genesys Hospital by Livingston County EMS. It is unknown at this time of the Flint man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The women driving the other vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Both sustained minor injuries, and refused treatment at the scene to seek medical attention on their own.
Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash, which closed the road for approximately four hours for investigation and clean up.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from Fenton Area Fire Department, and Livingston County EMS.
