The Livingston County Sheriff Traffic Safety Division is investigating a two-car accident at Highland Road (M-59) and North Latson Road at approximately 2:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, that sent a Howell resident to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a 59-year-old Howell resident driving a 2011 GMC Acadia was traveling west on Highland Road. He attempted to turn south onto North Latson Road when his vehicle was struck by a 2013 Ford utility truck, driven by a 43-year-old Highland resident, heading east on Highland Road.
The Howell resident in the Acadia was transported by Livingston County EMS with life-threatening injuries. The intersection was partially closed for approximately two-and-a-half hours during the investigation.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff Traffic Safety Division, alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
