A turkey crashed through the windshield of a 2022 Ford F-250 pickup truck heading east on I-96 near Fowlerville Road at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday. The turkey, which had flown into the path of the truck, ended up inside the vehicle.

The driver of the truck, a 19-year-old Sterling Heights man, was uninjured. He was able to maintain control of his vehicle, and avoided the incident turning into a major crash, according to a post from the Michigan State Police.

The Michigan State Police reminds everyone that turkey hunting season runs from April 20 to June 7 this year, and advises drivers to be on the lookout for turkeys that could fly into the path of vehicles as they attempt to elude hunters.
