A single-vehicle crash on the eastbound I-96 exit to Spencer Road in Brighton Township at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, closed the ramp for approximately 4 hours for cleanup.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, its preliminary investigation shows that a 2000 Volvo tractor and semi-trailer operated by NFF Trucking LLC of Dallas, Texas, being driven by a 31-year-old Los Angeles, Calif., resident was traveling too fast for conditions. The vehicle overturned on the ramp and spilled its load of empty refuse bins.

The driver was transported by Livingston County EMS for non-life threatening injuries. According to the release, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
