Three Pinckney Community High School students are among nine this year to receive Remedios Montalbo and A. Michael Young Scholarships to support their continued studies in music and other subjects at college.

Awarded yearly since 2016, the Remedios Montalbo and A. Michael Young Scholarships are offered in collaboration with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO), recognizing and supporting highly motivated college-bound seniors at Pinckney and Ypsilanti Community High Schools. The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra is committed to playing an active role in the local community through educational and engagement initiatives. A2SO musicians have paired with Pinckney HS students on stage for an annual Side by Side Concert in recent years.

The Pinckney students are Audra M. WoehleAlexis N. Bolin and Emma A. Moore.

The Ypsilanti High School scholarship recipients are Lindsay D. Timbs, Chrishell R.S. Brown, Destiny M. Hall, Nyla C. Hood, Abdrahman Niangadous, and Ibrahim Niangadou.

Launching its 94th concert season in September 2022, the A2SO is a premier regional orchestra that creates live, orchestral music for 70,000 listeners each year, and engages with the community through innovative and imaginative concert programming, educational programs, radio broadcasts, recordings, and online streaming.
