Theis welcomes American Legion national vice commander to Senate’s Memorial Day Service

American Legion National Vice Commander James Wallace and state Sen. Lana Theis

Sen. Lana Theis, R-Brighton, welcomed American Legion National Vice Commander James Wallace to the Senate’s 25th Annual Memorial Day Service on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

Wallace is a Vietnam era veteran and previously served as American Legion, Department of Michigan commander from 2014 – 2015. He is also a member of the Pinckney American Legion Post 419.

Wallace lives in Putnam Township with his wife, Linda.

Theis also hosted a luncheon for area veterans who attended the service, and presented tributes to the family of Dwight Sachau, a World War II veteran who passed away on April 11, 2019, at the age of 95.
