Dr. Jorge Autran Martinez has joined Specialized Surgeons, an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with an office at 715 Byron Road in Howell, as well as a location in Livonia.

Martinez is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the highest credential that can be obtained in the specialty, according to the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Martinez earned his bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Justo Sierra in Mexico City. In addition, Martinez earned his social service in dentistry and OMS from the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social UMF 76 – State of Mexico. He completed his OMS internship at Mexico City’s Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social UMAE CMN La Raza Hospital.
Following his internship, Martinez served as chief OMS resident at the University of Puerto Rico – School of Dental Medicine in San Juan, where he earned his master’s in dentistry and OMS. In addition, he completed a head and neck oncology/microvascular and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. Dr. Martinez is trained in a full scope of OMS services and says he’s excited to join Specialized Surgeons, treating patients in Howell and Livonia.

Specialized Surgeons offers a full scope of OMS procedures from jaw surgery and wisdom teeth removal to dental implant and bone grafting procedures. In addition, the surgeons diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries and TMJ disorders.
