A basketball fundraiser on March 9 will pit the local sheriff’s office against a special group of athletes from Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC). The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office will be taking to the court against Special Ministries for Livingston County Catholic Charities annual basketball fundraiser.

Special Ministries is a program of Catholic Charities that provides programming for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. This includes recreational events like movie nights, karaoke nights, and bowling, along with continuing education like healthy living, money management, and cooking classes.

Doors will open at noon for the game, set for Saturday, March 9, at the Oceola Community Center, 1661 N. Latson Road in Howell; tip-off is at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person at the door, with children 3 and under getting in free.

The event will also feature half time competitions with prizes and snacks for purchase.
