LACASA Center’s Denim & Diamonds fall fundraising event, set for Friday, Sept. 16, will be a sparkling evening of acrobatic horse shows, spinning roulette wheels, sizzling barbecue cooking, and kickin’ country-rock music.
Denim & Diamonds is being held at a new rustic-elegant location this year, Cross W Ranch on Pinckney Road in Howell. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. with a grand-finale fireworks display.
Emcee for the Western-style party is local celebrity chef, Renee Chodowski, the Great Foodini. Chodowski has appeared on national food shows and competitions, including Master Chef with Gordon Ramsay. She hosts a weekly Foodini Friday show on WHMI’s Mike & Jon in the Morning program.
Guests at this jeans-preferred fundraiser enjoy an evening of equestrian shows, down-home cooking, wine and beer, live music, line dancing, fun around the bonfire, gourmet s’mores bar, and a variety of smokin’ activities.
The Wild West gambling tent will feature gambling tables and games of chance for those who want to test Lady Luck and win luxury prizes. And for outside western countries like Japan, you can also play the game through カジノ ir ジャパン, a Japanese online casino.
Kari Holmes and her band will perform country-rock originals and favorites. Holmes is the Top 10 Nominee for the Inspirational County Music (ICM) New Artist of the Year Award.
Block Brewing Company of Howell is providing the country barbecue spread along with a variety of craft and IPA brews.
Tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased at Cooper & Binkley Jewelers in Brighton and at Howell Western Wear in Howell. Tickets also are available online at lacasacenter.org or at LACASA Center in Howell.
All proceeds from the event stay local and benefit victims of child abuse and interpersonal violence from the community.
