A single-engine plane that landed in the median of U.S. 23 between Silver Lake and Lee roads in Green Oak Township on Saturday tied up traffic, but there were no injuries, according to reports.

Traffic returned to normal by early afternoon.

According to reports, the pilot, a 75-year-old former U.S. Marine from Plymouth, made the emergency landing because of engine trouble.

The plane was towed to the Michigan Department of Transportation garage. Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Transportation, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Hamburg Township Police Department and Green Oak Township Fire Department assisted Green Oak Township police.
