U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Lansing, is divorcing her husband, Dave Moore, after 12 years of marriage.
In a joint statement made to the Detroit Free Press, the two said that they were saddened about the decision, which was made “after much reflection” and on “agreeable terms.”
The two met in 2009 while both were in Iraq: She was on a tour of duty as a U.S. intelligence office, and Moore was part of a U.S. team negotiating with the Iraqis. Their wedding took place in 2011 at Slotkin’s family farm in Holly.
Slotkin has represented Livingston County in Congress since 2018.
