US-23 near Fausett Road in Tyrone Township was closed for over 3 hours Thursday night when a semi-truck pulling a trailer loaded with 40,000 pounds of mulch overturned. (Those 40,000 pounds of mulch equal 50 yards of landscape material.)

Livingston County officers from the Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division said their investigation determined the vehicle was traveling too fast for road conditions and overturned.

U.S. 23 was closed for over three hours. The MSP officers report that there were no injuries.
