The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to be on the lookout for an 85-year-old man who left his home near Argentine Road north of Brophy Road in Oceola Township for a walk in the woods at approximately 4:45 p.m. Saturday, July 6, and never returned home.
Jerry Spaulding, 85, is described as a 5-foot 8-inch tall white man with gray hair who weighs approximately 160 pounds. Reported missing by his sister, Spaulding was last seen wearing a green and red western-style shirt, blue jeans, and boots. He may be wearing a hat and have a walking stick with him.
Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office searched the 40-acre parcel by his home, and on Sunday morning they requested search and rescue teams from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the Lapeer County Search and Rescue Team. The teams, with dogs and ATVs, expanded the search to several hundred acres around the man’s home. The search lasted into the evening hours without locating the man.
While help is not needed in the search, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is asking that if anyone sees Spaulding or has any information on his whereabouts to call (517) 546-9111.
