A two-vehicle crash at South Hacker and McClements roads in Genoa Township killed two county teens Saturday.
According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a 2007 Ford F-150, driven by a 16-year-old Fowlerville boy with three 16-year-old Howell boys inside as passengers, was eastbound on McClements Road when it failed to stop at the signed intersection and struck a 1998 Honda Civic being driven by a 19-year-old male resident of South Lyon.
After the collision, the Ford F-150 left the roadway, ejecting the driver and one of the passengers, both of whom were pronounced deceased at the scene. The other two passengers were transported to Providence Hospital in Novi with non- life threatening injuries by Livingston County EMS.
None of the boys in the Ford F-150 were wearing their seatbelts.
The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to U-M Medical Center in Ann Arbor with non-life threatening injuries by Livingston County EMS .
The roadway was closed for approximately four-and-a-half hours during the investigation and cleanup.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were assisted on the scene by Brighton Area Fire Department, Michigan State Police, and Livingston County EMS.
