A 50-year-old Howell man on a 2008 Polaris Outlaw ATV heading south on Argentine Road in Oceola Township at about 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22, was ejected off the vehicle as it overturned as he tried to turn left onto Hazard Road.

The ATV operator, who was not wearing a helmet, was seriously injured. He was transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau. The road was closed for approximately one hour for investigation and clean up.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Howell Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
