The Smoke Doctor restaurant at 1202 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell is closing.

According to social media, the reasons for the closing include that “the economy is bad, meat prices are skyrocketing and overall costs have increased.”

“With this long, cold, snowy winter, sales are down and costs are up,” the restaurant posted.

The restaurant is running specials until it closes: $3 off brisket and ribs; $2 off sandwiches; $4 well drinks; and $3 tall drafts.

Calls to the restaurant to find out when the last day will be have not been answered.
