Sharing is caring!

Parents who want to learn about creating nurturing connections with their young children or how to navigate parenting during the teenage years are invited to attend LACASA Center’s two eight-week winter sessions about these topics.

The Nurturing Parenting Program supports parents of young children (newborn to 11), and focuses on teaching parents about empathy, appropriate expectations, and positive discipline.

Nurturing Parenting will be held on Tuesdays from 6 – 8 p.m. and runs Jan. 16 through March 5.

The Parenting 2.0: Surviving the Teen Years series is designed to help parents through the challenging years of raising tweens and teens, and focuses on teen development, parenting styles, and setting limits and rules.

Parenting 2.0 will be held on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 p.m. This series starts January 24 and runs through March 13, with the February 21 class being rescheduled to February 22.

Program fees are $100 for one parent, $125 if both parents attend, and covers all class materials. Some scholarships are available.

Both sessions will be held in-person at the new LACASA Center facility at 1920 Tooley Road in Howell, across from the Livingston County EMS building.

These award winning and nationally recognized programs are sponsored in part by the Kellogg Family Foundation.

Advance registration is required for both courses. For more information, visit lacasacenter.org. To register, contact LACASA’s parenting education instructor at (517) 548-1350 or email parenting@lacasacenter.org.
