Registration is open for LACASA Center’s Nurturing Parenting and Fathers Only classes, which begin in March and April and will be held in a virtual format.
The Nurturing Parenting program is designed specifically for parents of young children (newborn to 11), and focuses on teaching parents about empathy, appropriate expectations, and positive discipline.
The Fathers Only program is designed for fathers, step-fathers, and other male caregivers. Topics include fathering without fear, fathering without violence, and differences in fathering daughters and sons.
These award-winning, nationally recognized programs are traditionally offered in an in-person setting. Due to social distancing regulations and COVID-19 restrictions, both courses will be completely virtual.
LACASA’s parenting education classes are funded by a grant from the Kellogg Family Foundation.
Nurturing Parenting will be held on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. through virtual Zoom conferencing and runs March 29 through May 17. Program fee is $100 for one parent, $125 if both parents attend, and covers all class materials.
Fathers Only will be held on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. through virtual Zoom conferencing and runs April 6 through May 25. Program fee is $125 and covers all class materials.
Some scholarships are available.
