At about midnight, with nearly 84 percent of Livingston County precincts reporting, former Livingston County Circuit Court Judge David Reader has maintained his commanding lead and appears to well on his way to pick off Livingston County Prosecutor William Vailliencourt.
Throughout the evening, Reader’s lead remained steady at around 70 percent; as of midnight, Reader had 21,476 votes, while Vailliencourt received 9,391 votes in the hottest primary race this season..
Reader out-raised Vailliencourt in the campaign, reporting a total of $105,371 raised, including $65,000 of his own money. Vailliencourt raised just $20,430.
The winner takes on Democrat Ragan Lake in the fall.
