Sharing is caring!

In what will be its biggest show ever, Prelude Children’s Theater is putting out the call for actors and dancers for its production of “Newsies Jr.”

Auditions are set to take place on Sunday, May 22, and the production is looking for actors and dancers going into grades 2-8 in the fall of 2022.

Anyone interested needs to attend a dance workshop — set for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Maria’s School of Dance, 105 E. Grand River Ave., Fowlerville. If anyone is unable to attend, a video of the workshop will be emailed.

At the auditions, all actors will be required to sing a 30-second song from Disney or Broadway, as well as perform the jazz dance that will be taught at the workshop.

If the actor would like to be considered for a role with lines, they must also perform a monologue 30-seconds to 1 minute in length. And if any actors are interested in a lead role or to be in the tap dance number, they need to also perform the tap dance taught at the workshop.

Anyone wanting to audition must register; to fill out a registration form, CLICK HERE.

If there any questions, contact Hartland Community Education at (810) 626-2150.
