Police have identified the 52-year-old man killed in a single-motorcycle crash at White Lake Road near Forest Hills Drive in Tyrone Township at approximately 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, as John Ely of Fenton.
The preliminary investigation shows Ely was traveling east on White Lake Road on a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he left the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway, and overturned near Forest Hills Drive. Ely was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Ely was pronounced deceased at the scene by Livingston County EMS.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, though alcohol use is being investigated.
Deputies of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office were assisted not he scene by Fenton Fire Department and Livingston County Ambulance.
