A 22-year-old Howell man was arrested at about 4:15 p.m. Monday in connection with that day’s early-morning robbery at the Hampton Inn Suites at 8068 Challis Road in Brighton

The robbery took place about 15 hours earlier when the suspect reportedly entered the Hampton Inn Suites, went into the bathroom, and then exited the hotel before re-entering again, this time armed and wearing a mask. The suspect was reported to have gone behind the front desk counter when a hotel employee was sitting; he took the money out of the cash drawer before fleeing.

According to a release from the Brighton Police Department, the suspect was identified during its investigation, and he was taken into custody without incident; the suspect is lodged at the Livingston County Jail.
