Put on your shamrocks, because it’s time to Run for the Gold!

One of the most popular 5K runs in Michigan takes to the streets of Pinckney on Saturday, March 17 – the Run for the Gold 5K and Kids Run.

The run takes place as part of Pinckney’s big St. Patrick’s Day celebration that day. The 5K run starts at 10 a.m., with the Kids Run at 11 a.m., right before the parade.

This year’s Run for the Gold 5K and Kids Dash is the eighth-annual event, and it’s fast become one of the most popular runs in Michigan, attracting hundreds of runners each year. The race starts and ends in downtown Pinckney, with a beautiful route that winds through the neighboring roads and the Lakelands Trail.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers in each age group .Participants will be treated to a post-race party on the patio at LaVita Bistro featuring food from LaVita Bistro and Go Taco!

The registration fee is $30 for the 5K and $10 for the Fun Run until March 5. After that date, the price increases.

One huge bonus for this run: Participants will have access to free photos of themselves taken during the race by Greg Sadler Photography, provided by HomeSure Lending.

The Run for the Gold is put on by the Light of the World Academy and Light of the World Montessori Preschool. HomeSure Lending (www.homesurelending.com) is the presenting sponsor.

The Kids Run is open to all ages, and will have both quarter-mile and half-miles routes, depending on the age group.
