Longtime Pinckney Community Schools teacher Pat Tessmer died April 20.
Considered a “legend” in the Pinckney Schools community, she was one of four people enshrined on the Pinckney Community Schools Wall of Fame in 2019.
Tessmer, a lifelong Pinckney resident, graduated from Pinckney High School in 1964. She went on to teach in Pinckney’s classrooms for 40 years, beginning in 1969 after she earned a master’s degree in communications from Eastern Michigan University. In addition to teaching in the classroom, she also spent 30 years working on theater productions alongside Jane Tasch, whom she considered the most courageous educator she ever knew.
