Kelly Lee Roth of Pinckney will be signing copies of her children’s book, “Freddie the Fluorescent Fish is Going to Find Riley’s Rainbow” from 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Aberrant Ales, 219 W. Grand River Ave. in downtown Howell.

This is the first book for Roth, who has been writing for years and has had her poetry published in magazines along the way. She has another book just about ready for publication.

The book, about a beautiful Mexican Lookdown fish with green scales who is different from the rest of his families. With his friends — an octopus, a sea turtle, a dolphin, and a pirate — Freddie goes on a search for Riley’s Rainbow. Representing diversity and differences, Freddie learns to embrace his special traits. Meetings villains along the way, Freddie and his friends discover what friendship means.

The 30-page paperback book, published by Dorrance Publishing Co. of Pittsburgh, sells for $18; the ebook version is $13.
