Oceola Township is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, for its new playscape. Adjacent to the parking lot immediately north of the township hall at 1577 N. Latson Road, east of the soccer fields, is the site of the play area designed for children up to 12 years of age featuring swings, climbing structures, slides, a bike rack, and benches. The Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant structure is on an approved play surface near the three- quarter mile long walking path. One of the larger playscapes in the area, this design was selected to provide entertainment and exercise for children and to stimulate their curiosity and imagination.
