New free pantry in Howell open for business

Sharing is caring!

There’s a new free pantry in the Howell City Depot Lot near the Howell Summit Gardens, and community members are encouraged to donate anything they can — large or small — to the cabinet.

The pantry — which has a number of sponsors — was the brainchild of Kristie Guadiano. The Reviser family donated the core structure and design plans, and Cathy Killmar’s family took the lead on building the pantry.

According to a City of Howell post on Facebook announcing the free pantry, the organizers worked hard to bring the free pantry movement to Howell, “believing that neighbors should come together to help people in their community with daily struggles, in any small possible way.”

The pantry — which contains nonperishable food, as well as personal care and paper items, is accessible to anyone at any time, with no questions asked.
