Eva Bonfiglio

Howell High School junior Eva Bonfiglio is one of 45 students selected to serve on the Hope Squad National Council for the 2025-26 school year.

Hope Squad is an evidence-based suicide prevention program that reduces the risk of suicide through intentional connection. Listed as an approved program on the Suicide Prevention Resource Center’s Best Practice Registry, Hope Squad is supported by academic research partners and is currently used in thousands of schools across the United States. Bonfiglio, who will continue to serve on the Howell High School Hope Squad, will be representing not only the school, but the entire community on a national platform, said Eric Schrock, the HHS Hope Squad advisor.

“This is an incredible honor and a reflection of Eva’s genuine compassion, steady leadership, and unwavering commitment to spreading hope in our school and beyond,” Schrock said.

Bonfiglio is the second Howell HS student to serve on the Hope Squad National Council: Militza Alfredo-Huerta served on it for the 2024-25 school year.
