Sharing is caring!

I am not surprised that Gabrielle Montesanti won the statewide DAR Christopher Columbus essay contest, not one little bit.

Longtime readers of The Livingston Post (and it’s predecessor, LivingstonTalk.com) know her as one of its bloggers, providing an eloquent take on high school life. Now a senior year at Howell High School, she’s been too busy to do much posting this year.

Those of us lucky enough to know her beyond this website have enjoyed watching her creative trajectory through the years.

I was so impressed with Gabe’s art supplement to a college application that I used it for a post. You can view the supplement below. You’ll see that in addition to being a really good writer, Gabe wields a mean camera; she’s produced some stunning and creative images.

In addition to writing and photography, Gabe is also quite an athlete and captains the Howell High School varsity swim team. She also lifeguards at the Howell Area Aquatic Center, and works at the Howell Carnegie District Library.

Gabe’s essay now moves onto regional and, hopefully, national competition.

Way to go, Gabrielle!
