The Livingston County Community Mental Health Authority received a new grant award for the next 2-1/2 years from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to develop a Community-Based Mental Health Mobile Crisis program.
The purpose of this program is to increase behavioral health crisis services across Livingston County, regardless of location, diagnosis or insurance status.
The program, which will take some time to develop and implement fully, will expand collaborative partnerships from system partners like law enforcement/first responders, school systems, hospital systems and other providers, etc.
The grant will benefit those who are most vulnerable, who will be able to receive timely assistance through an effective crisis continuum model; those in crisis, who can access the appropriate level of care and reduce the risk of future harm; those on the response team will be able to collaborate effectively and efficiently with system partners/first responders; and the community can build resilience and outreach to underserved areas.
LCCMHA supports individuals with mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disabilities needs, and works alongside local partners to provide support, education, and resources aimed at prevention, early intervention and on-going support.
