“Tuck Everlasting” is based on the novel of the same name by Natalie Babbitt. It tells the story of a family who drinks water from a magical spring and becomes immortal. When they encounter a young girl who lives in their rural New England town, she becomes friends with one of the sons, who soon offers her the secret to everlasting life. She then has to decide if she wants to join her new friends in immortality, or if she will live out her normal life. A timeless story of family, loss, friendship, and love, Tuck Everlasting is sure to become a classic favorite.

The show is directed by Susan Gronow and Alyssa Friday. The student director is Emma Rider. Produced by Katie Johnson and Alicia Rider.

From now until opening night, we’ll be introducing you to members of the cast. In today’s story, we meet 10-year-old Maezie Simmons of Howell, a fifth-grader at Voyager Elementary School in Howell. Her parents are Rich and Sharon Simmons and she has a younger brother, Elias. Maezie plays a featured dancer in the show, and she’s also Future Winnie’s Daughter.

What performing experience have you had in the past?

I participated in one other show besides this one last summer (2022) with CTH called “Musicville.”

What do you like about “Tuck Everlasting”?

I like that you have outfits for each part and you can make new friends while you are doing the play.

What role does your character play in the story, and what do you like about playing your part?

I am a featured dancer and I’m the main character’s daughter. I like my role because I get to do ballet like dancing with other people. I also have my own scene of me growing up.

Why should the audience come see the show?

I think people should come to see Tuck Everlasting” because there are happy parts, sad parts, funny parts and cute parts. The story has many exciting scenes with lots of twists and turns. And you get to come and support kids who love theater, like me!

What do you like doing when you’re not on stage?

I like painting, sewing, playing outside with my friends, swimming, crafting, camping, singing and dancing. I LOVE TO DO LOTS OF THINGS!
