“Tuck Everlasting” is based on the novel of the same name by Natalie Babbitt. It tells the story of a family who drinks water from a magical spring and becomes immortal. When they encounter a young girl who lives in their rural New England town, she becomes friends with one of the sons, who soon offers her the secret to everlasting life. She then has to decide if she wants to join her new friends in immortality, or if she will live out her normal life. A timeless story of family, loss, friendship, and love, Tuck Everlasting is sure to become a classic favorite.
The show is directed by Susan Gronow and Alyssa Friday. The student director is Emma Rider. Produced by Katie Johnson and Alicia Rider.
From now until opening night, we’ll be introducing you to members of the cast. In today’s article, we meet 12-year-old Logan White of Howell, a sixth-grader at Highlander Way Middle School. Logan lives in Howell with his parents, Bronson and Abbey, and sister Hadley. Logan plays Hugo, Deputy in Training.
What performing experience have you had in the past?
I’ve played Eason the Elf in “Santa’s Zombie Apocalypse” and Mr. Greenway and Northpole Elf in “Elf Jr.” for CTH. Also Hermy the Elf in “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” for Hartland Encore Youth Theatre. I was recently cast as Kurt VonTrapp in CTH’s “The Sound of Music.”
What do you like about “Tuck Everlasting”?
I really like the music. I also like the story. It’s very exciting and suspenseful. I’m also excited that this is a school show and a lot of kids will be able to enjoy the experience.
What role does your character play and what do you like about playing your part?
I play Hugo, the Deputy in Training. His role is to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Winnie alongside his father, Constable Joe. I like playing this part because Hugo is the comedy relief of the show.
Why should the audience come and see the show?
If you enjoy lots of singing and dancing and want to see an adventure taking place in the late 1800s in Treegap, New Hampshire, come see this show.
What do you like to do when you’re not on stage?
I enjoy reading, watching movies, playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, doing outdoor activities, and playing and watching football.
