“Tuck Everlasting” is based on the novel of the same name by Natalie Babbitt. It tells the story of a family who drinks water from a magical spring and becomes immortal. When they encounter a young girl who lives in their rural New England town, she becomes friends with one of the sons, who soon offers her the secret to everlasting life. She then has to decide if she wants to join her new friends in immortality, or if she will live out her normal life. A timeless story of family, loss, friendship, and love, Tuck Everlasting is sure to become a classic favorite.

The show is directed by Susan Gronow and Alyssa Friday. The student director is Emma Rider. Produced by Katie Johnson and Alicia Rider.

From now until opening night, we’ll be introducing you to members of the cast. In today’s story, we meet 10-year-old Kensington Hanson of Howell, a fourth-grader at Shepherd of the Lakes School. Kensington lives in Howell with mom Stacey, dad Jammie, older brother Riley and seven pets. Kensington plays a Circus Clown in the show.

What performing experience have you had in the past?

I’ve had parts in “Elf Jr.,” “Musicville,” “Seussical Jr.” and “Pirates Past Noon,” all with CTH. Also, I have performed as a part of a haunted hay ride and I am in my school’s drama club.

What do you like about “Tuck Everlasting”?

I really like the Tuck family and their story. They never die!

What role does your character play in the story, and what do you like about playing your part?

I play a carnival clown at the town fair. I like playing a clown because I get to be silly and I get to dance with the evil character.

Why should the audience come see the show?

Everyone knows we can’t live forever. We get to see what would happen if you did (live forever).

What do you like doing when you’re not on stage?

I love to play golf, travel, and hang out with my friends.
