The Livingston Post is profiling cast members of the Community Theatre of Howell’s production of “Elf Jr. – The Musical,” which runs Dec. 10-12 and 17-19 at the Howell High School Freshman Campus.
Based on the widely popular Will Ferrell film, the hilarious musical tells the tale of Buddy the Elf, who leaves Santa Claus and his adopted family at the North Pole to search for his biological dad and search for his true identity in New York City.
The show is directed by Kevin Rogers and produced by Theresia Rogers. The production staff includes Tracey Pasfield (assistant director), Heather Douglas (assistant producer), Anni Ulman (choreographer), Chrissy Griffon (vocal director), Chris Clinton-Cali (costumer) and Brian Bickel (tech director).
In this story, we meet Logan White, a fifth-grader at Hutchins Elementary School in Howell who plays Mr. Greenway in this show. Logan lives in Howell with parents Bronson and Abbey White and a sister, Hadley.
What previous stage experience have you had?
I was cast as Young Simba for “The Lion King Jr.,” but that was canceled due to COVID. I played Eason the Cafeteria Elf in “Santa’s Zombie Apocalypse.” I also played Jack in “Magic Tree House Pirates Past Noon” summer 2021 camp.

What do you enjoy about the Community Theatre of Howell?
I enjoy making new friends and performing in the plays. This is a good stepping stone for me because I want to be an actor when I grow up.
What do you like about playing this role in the play?
I play Mr. Greenway, the cranky boss of Walter Hobbs. I like this role because I get to yell at people and it’s funny that I play the boss when Walter is so much taller than me. I also play a North Pole Elf.
What can the audience expect with “Elf Jr.”?
The audience will laugh the whole show and get a good sense of Christmas spirit. The ending is a show stopper so be prepared.
