Aubrey Glowacki and Brooke Wiater

It’s no easy feat to transform an empty stage into the setting for a mystery aboard a westbound train — but Hartland High School juniors Aubrey Glowacki and Brooke Wiater have worked alongside the entire Hartland Drama Club set crew to do exactly that. Audiences will be able to see the result of their hard work as the curtain opens for “Murder on the 518.”

We spoke with Glowacki (who is also the Drama Club’s vice president) and Wiater about their experience with creating an impressive set designed to exceed the audience’s expectations.

What is your favorite part about this production?
Glowacki: My favorite part about this show has been watching it all come together. From week one to “heck week,” so much growth and hard work has occurred. It has been such an amazing experience to grow alongside my peers, and I’m so lucky to have such an amazing drama family!
Wiater: The people!

What motivates you to work hard, both as a Drama Club member and in life?
Glowacki: My parents are my biggest motivation to work hard because they are always there for me on the good days, and the bad days.
Wiater: My friends and family.

Is there someone who inspired you to get involved with Drama Club?
Glowacki: My freshman year, my best friend, Sierra Tennyson, convinced me to join Drama Club. Ever since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the club. Thank you for everything, Sierra!

What do you do outside of Drama Club?
Glowacki: I’m a Link Leader for Hartland High School’s Link Crew program, I’m on the varsity golf team and I dance, as well.
Wiater: I’m a part of the Hartland High School Marching Eagles, National Honor Society, Future Educators Club and Young Life, and I volunteer at Grumlaw Church.

Who is your hero?
Glowacki: My hero is my grandma because she shows me how to be strong, and reminds me to always see the good in every situation.
Wiater: My grandma because of how hard she works, motivates and puts others first. She is such a blessing.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Glowacki: When people talk over others.
Wiater: When people don’t use their cars’ blinkers.

What did you want to be as a child?
Glowacki: I wanted to be a princess … I was definitely dreaming big!
Wiater: Really tall.

What would be the slogan for your life?
Glowacki: My slogan for life would be, “Live life to the fullest.” Although it’s cheesy, it’s always good to make the most out of the moments you have!
