From now until opening night, we will be highlighting members of the production.

Hartland High School students Allison Ehlfeldt and Laurel Comiskey have worked tirelessly to play the roles of veteran ER doctor Lauren Maloney and passionate veterinary technician Abby Wells, respectively, in Hartland Drama Club’s “Murder on the 518.” However, they say the camaraderie among the cast and crew makes the many hours of rehearsal well worth the effort.

We chatted with Ehlfeldt, a junior, and Comiskey, a sophomore, as they prepare to unveil their roles as Maloney and Wells to the Hartland community.

What is your favorite part about this production?
Ehlfeldt: Working with an amazing group of talented people. Everyone is so much fun to be on stage with. The play has been so much fun to work on and I can’t wait to perform it.
Comiskey: I love how easy everything just flows together. It works so well with the cast we have!

Is it easy for you to memorize your lines?
Ehlfeldt: Depending on the line, it can be both easy and hard. If I have huge lines, it can take some time, but smaller lines are easy to remember.
Comiskey: I find I don’t need to spend much time outside rehearsal.

Do you wish to pursue theater after high school?
Ehlfeldt: Yes. I want to go to college for acting.

What motivates you to work hard, both as a Drama Club member and in life?
Comiskey: My friends motivate me.

If you could live anywhere, what location would you choose?
Ehlfeldt: New York city or Paris.
Comiskey: Australia.

What do you do outside of Drama Club?
Ehlfeldt: Relax, paint, sew, draw and cook.

What would be the slogan for your life?
Comiskey: You create your own opportunities.

Do you prefer to sing, act or dance?
Ehlfeldt: I love to sing and act, but if I had to pick, I’d say act. I get to play a whole different person and explore their personality.
Comiskey: I prefer to act.

What is your favorite season?
Ehlfeldt: Fall.
Comiskey: Spring.

Do you like surprises? Why or why not?
Comiskey: Yes! I feel like it could be better than knowing what you’re going to get or what you’re getting yourself into!

Who is your hero?
Ehlfeldt: My parents.
Comiskey: Spider-Man!

What inspired you to audition for this show?
Ehlfeldt: My dreams of becoming an actress.
