Name: Tyler Atkin

Grade: Sophomore

Role: Benny Southstreet

Tell us about your character in the show: Benny Southstreet is Nathan Detroit’s right-hand man and a gambler himself. He’s smart, slick, and always moving and shaking, but with what he thinks are Nathan’s best interests at heart.

Where have we seen you before? I was in Brighton Musical Theater’s The Wizard of Oz last year. I’ve participated in over 20 shows, from Hilton Elementary School through Brighton High School as well as Hartland Players in Hartland. I was Peter in Peter and the Starcatcher with Brighton High School Dramatic Arts. I’ve played the roles of Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka Jr. and Miss Trunchbull in Matilda Jr. both with Hartland Encore Youth Theater.

What are your hobbies? I love participating in all things choir (Notetorious, Da Capo, and Chamber Choir) and am a Representative with Sophomore Student Council. I would like to continue with a theater career in college and beyond.

Who would you like to thank? The directors for this opportunity, my voice coach, Sally Mikat for her guidance, my past directors for their support, and my family for putting up with me. Now excuse me, I have some bets to make.
